In this video I’m going to show you how to validate email addresses in Google sheets using the zero bounce API with the rapid API Google sheets plugin.
Say you just created a prospecting list like the one right here and you generated an email address for each one of the prospects.
Validating each email address before sending out is the best practice that will minimize the risk of a high bounce rate tarnishing your sender reputation or even worse your domain getting blacklisted.
The zero bounce API allows for you to do exactly that in this video we’ll create a formula that checks if the email address is responding and create a validity column so you can see it right here.
For this, we’ll use a zero bounce API with the RapidAPI for Google sheets add-on.
You can find the API on the RapidAPI.com marketplace after signing up for RapidAPI go to the zero bounce API page and open the pricing tab to subscribe.
The free plan includes about a hundred requests per month which should be plenty for you to get started.
After subscribing for the API you can try it out in the endpoints tab-it takes two parameters as you can see here IP address an email.
For now, just leave the IP address as zero and put in any email address. Click test to test in browser and see the response. It returns a field called status which indicates if the address is valid or invalid and will bounce.
Now let’s get that into the sheet: click the link in the description to install the RapidAPI add-on for Google Sheets.
In your file open the add-ons menu and enable it for the document. The way to make a request to the email validation API is using the get function.
The first parameter will be the URL of the API which you can find in the RapidAPI page and will specify which part of the response we want to pull into the sheet.
Here we want to get the status field telling us is it valid or invalid.
You can pull multiple fields by separating them with a comma.
Next, we’ll supply the RapidAPI key which can be found in the RapidAPI page and lastly will input the parameter.
For each parameter put the parameter name followed by its value. For the IP address remember we’re sending zero well. For the email address, we’re referring to the cell in the other column.
That’s it! You can now drag the cell to validate emails for as many rows as you have in your sheet. Easy peasy!
Using the same function you can connect of API is in the RapidAPI marketplace and apply them to a Google sheet good luck
